State Projects

Working with the General Services Administration is not unlike working with the federal government, where technical competency, adherence to budget and contract performance are the standards by which projects are judged as successful. Our work on the Del Mar Fairgrounds Livestock Exhibition Hall, for example, proved that where knowledge, skill and leadership count, Certified Air Conditioning performed above and beyond the GSA’s expectations.

Del Mar Fairgrounds Livestock Exhibition Hall

Legendary for Wyland’s life-size whale mural, the fairgrounds’ Livestock Exhibition Hall required a complex HVAC system that would literally be the backdrop for a famous work of art. (Look closely at the mural and you’ll see our ductwork, deftly camouflaged by the artist with painted-on kelp, allowing it to blend into the oceanic scene.) Certified Air Conditioning provided large package units, exhaust systems, all ductwork and the enormous, 24’ diameter paddle fans hanging above the livestock. These fans – ironically called “Big Ass Fans®” (notice the donkey on the motor housing unit) – are actually one of the most reliable industrial air movement solutions for large spaces, especially when used in combination with a well-designed total HVAC system.
